Here are some tips from the team at Dare to Dream.

Proper planning and organization is a key factor when it comes to reaching your goals. Organization enables you to tackle each day and each project with a clear and confident mind.

There are simple hacks you can use every day to help you plan your life and make sure you’re doing what you need to make a successful future. Not sure where to start?

Here’s the top tips we share with young women in our girl leadership programs at Dare to Dream:

Set Up Your To-Do Lists

It’s vital to take the time to set up daily, weekly and monthly to-do lists. It’s a great way for you to track your progress and feel accomplished as you start to tick things off.

Sometimes it’s best for you to just do a one-time brain dump of everything you can possibly think of and then work systematically through them and establish what is the most important. This way, you avoid becoming overwhelmed and focusing on things that don’t really matter.

Your To-Do lists should cover:

-       Items that Have Deadlines

-       Personal and Work Tasks

-       Overdue Tasks You Tend to Put Off

-       Key Tasks That Will Guarantee Your Success

Once you’ve setup your lists, go through a mark everything which may be time sensitive or of utmost priority and then make sure you prioritize them every day.

Start Colour Co-Ordinating

Sometimes colour just makes everything better. Consider setting specific colours for certain tasks.

For example:

-       Mark every urgent task in red so that it draws your attention.

-       Mark personal tasks in purple and work tasks in green so you can easily see which are for work and which are just for yourself.

This systematic marking will help keep things clear in your mind.

Set Up A Weekly Routines

Routines are an ideal way to build healthy habits. Plus, once you’ve established a routine it’s fairly easy to follow.

Allow yourself time in the mornings to meditate or get in the right headspace. Make time for healthy practices like exercise or self-care that help you re-center, re-focus and de-stress.

As much as it’s important to be a go-getter and knock things off of your to-do list, burn out is a real thing. So, make sure you plan your week’s with a balance of work, relaxation and just a little bit of play.

Keep Everything in Its Place

Whether it’s your bedroom or your home workspace, clutter and mess are going to create the wrong energy for your environment.

Start tidying up and allocating spaces, files and containers for all your stuff. It’s amazing what an organized space will do for the organization in your mind.

We work with some really incredible women at the Dare to Dream project and what we’ve noticed from all of them is that when you build positive practices, it’s so much easier to smash your goals and achieve your dreams.
